When and why did you start working in the fitness industry?

I had a very active childhood, participating in many sports including a competitive career in gymnastics. I then spent 14 years as an elite gymnastics coach training young athletes towards national squads and competitions (still being a regular gym goer myself). In 2015 I found CrossFit and discovered a whole new approach to fitness. This world opened up so many new opportunities for me and I found real motivation for training. With my background as a coach and knowledge in health and fitness, I naturally found myself helping others which led me on to completing my CrossFit level 1 qualification and eventually my Personal Training level 3. I enjoy training people as well as planning, setting and seeing through goals. However, the most rewarding thing is helping my clients achieve things they didn’t know they were even capable of.

What are your specialities and preferred methods?

Even though I have such a big involvement in CrossFit this doesn’t necessarily mean this is the only way I train my clients. Each client is going to have a different goal which is going to require a lot of time and thought put in to planning a personalised programme to reach that outcome successfully. Naturally I think interval training and functional fitness is very beneficial to everyday life but I like to keep things fun, interesting a bit of a challenge.

What are your hobbies and interests?

The majority of my time is spent in the gym! Competing regularly in CrossFit requires me to follow a vigorous training schedule but luckily I enjoy every part of it! I also have a big interest in sports rehabilitation which led me on to completing my Level 3 in Sports Massage Therapy. I now do Sports Massage on the side of Personal Training and I think they complement each other well, as recovery is just as important as the training itself.
However, when I’m not training or training others I ensure I maintain a good social life, meeting up with friends and family.

What is your favourite healthy meal, and cheat meal?

I eat very clean most of the time with breakfast being my favourite meal of the day.
My favourites cheats would be anything like pancakes or waffles!
